It is believed that on this day the deities celebrate Diwali, hence it is called Dev Diwali. This year Dev Deepawali will be celebrated on 18th November. It is said that the deities come to earth on the day of Kartik Purnima and celebrate Diwali. This festival is mainly celebrated on the banks of river Ganga in Varanasi. According to religious significance, on the day of Dev Deepawali, the deities come to take a holy bath on the banks of the river Ganges.
